Blog Hop Party Giveaway!

Welcome to the Quilting Gallery Blog Hop!

I'm so happy you are here! I'm Jen and I love everything Quilty!

I'm an advanced beginner. That means that I have a good idea of what I'm supposed to be doing and what it's supposed to look like when I'm done, but sometimes it looks like a kindergartner did it. What can I say? I'm a kid at heart. And a kid at art, apparently ;)

I'm not just talking little things either, like wonky blocks or points that don't touch. I'm a serious quilty transgressor. I'm guilty of sewing through my finger. Of accidentally sewing my back to the front during FMQ. Of sewing the same block wrong 3 times in a row. Of paper-piecing the word JOY completely backwards and not realizing until I finished it. My most embarrassing quilty moment was threading embroidery floss through my sewing machine. My pattern said to embroider and I didn't want to do it by hand, so I carefully threaded my machine! Luckily, I wasn't able to thread the needle. I can only imagine the mess I would have made had I actually started "embroidering!"

I know what you are thinking:

"What a dork!"

And

"Get to the giveaway already!"

Ok, ok!

I am giving away something that you will love!

Would you love one of these?:

Or how about two of these:

Or maybe a bit of this:

Because I'm giving away $20.00 to Green Fairy Quilts! You get to decide what you get!

Just leave a comment. Make it interesting! Tell me about your most embarrassing Quilty moment or your oldest UFO or your dream project.

Just make it A Quilty comment!

If you are a follower, leave a second comment. That way I can show my followers some love!

Happy Hopping!

FNSI results and Giveaway Winner

Did you have a productive FNSI? Follow the link to see what other quilters were doing last night, I usually find some great blogs to follow!

Since it's the second half of the month, I worked on my current BOMs. I made a boot for Boot Bash BOM. I like this boot a lot but wish I would have used more blue. Blue outline stitching on the boot would have looked really nice. But I'm not about to change it!

Look at them all together!

I really love this quilt!

Next I cut the pieces and stitched this guy from Jewel in the Crown BOM:

This little bugger did not want to go together correctly. I had to rip stitches and starch the crap out it. Some of the squares have their points cut off, but otherwise, I'm happy!

And this Civil War block came together as a Leader and Ender:

I'm happy with my FNSI!

And now to choose a winner for my 100 followers Giveaway:

Margaret!

From

Check out Margaret's blog. She is having a Giveaway for her followers, too! She's giving away a darling Dresden block Clock. Congrats Margaret!

Thanks for Folllowing and Have a Quilty Weekend!

Traveling Stash Giveaway!

We had fun together. But it's time for the Traveling Stash to move on!

This is what I took:

Picture shamelessly stolen from Marianne at Sew Ruffhaven, where I won this awesome prize. Check out her blog to read the history of the Traveling Stash and watch it's evolution.

Some Fall fat quarters, a few Xmas fabrics, misc fabric, a Yo-Yo maker, and a bag of red and white charms. And a gift card to Joann's Fabrics.

This is what I put in:

A few patterns I've already made, a tissue-cover for tiny tissues (I love it, but don't carry tiny tissues), an American Jane panel, a cute Pumpkin pin cushion kit with Fig Tree fabrics, a purse kit, a really cute vintage apron, a bag of Asian 3.5 inch squares, a bag of 2 inch squares (start a Charm quilt!), a few random pieces of yardage that I just chopped off. Also, some squares of really cute designer fabrics:

A smidgeon over 12.5 inch square. And some Joel Dewberry Heirloom charms:

Would you like a peep at the Traveling Stash?!

Of course you do!

The rules are simple. Take what you want. Replenish the stash. Host your own giveaway on your blog and send it off! I tried to make sure it left better than it looked when it came to me. Cuz that's what my Mom taught me :)

Please only US residents (because of shipping costs). Please only bloggers (to host your own giveaway). Please promise to send it off!

Leave a comment. I'll choose someone on Saturday morning!

But that's not all!!!

Did you see that big pile that I put in the box? Well, it almost fit. If it weren't for this darn book!

LOL. This is a great book. I've already read it from my local library though and want to pass it on. But it's thick! And the box won't close! So I will pull another name for this book. If you don't want the book, just let me know in your comment.

Good luck!

Sew Mama Sew Giveaway!

Welcome to my Quilty Home! I'm Jennifer. Can I get you a glass of wine? How about some Denise Schmidt fabric? I'm giving away 1 fat quarter of each of the prints you see here. I cut the fat quarters myself. While drinking wine. And watching The Biggest Loser on my laptop. And twirling a hula hoop. A hula hoop on fire. Not really. But the cuts look like I did.

Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing. 2(!) winners will be chosen randomly on May 26. I will ship internationally.

Feel free to sip your wine and poke around. I like to make quilts here. Sometimes I even finish one.

Happy Hopping!

Edit: Oops! I posted this a week early. Premature posting, I suppose. I don't know how to fix it, so it will stay up. Good luck everyone! Enjoy Giveaway Day!

What's All the Hoopla?!

Good morning! Today I turn 30!

I thought I would wake up slightly depressed and a bit achy and fat, but mostly I'm just excited it's my birthday! And fat, but that's a whole other post :)

Hula-Hooping in Maui, pre-fat

I'm hosting a giveaway for my birthday! Yay! My first giveaway!

Did I ever mention that I love to Hula-Hoop?

I know, it's a weird hobby (so is quilting, by the way). I have an adult-sized hula hoop and have learned a few tricks. It's a great (lazy) way to do ab exercises and a good way to get your cardio in too! 30 minutes of hooping burns about 200 calories. And it's fun and sexy! I love to put some fabulous music on and hoop it out; practicing some tricks, twirls, and jumps!

Once you get the hang of playing with the hula-hoop, you can be a bit more adventurous. Light the hoop on fire!

This is a fire hoop. It actually comes with wicks to dip in white gas and alight. I don't have one, but I love playing with them whenever I get the chance. Which strangely, is more often than you'd think! (Disclaimer: I am wearing a bathing suit in this picture, it's just hard to see)

Which brings me to my giveaway! Don't worry, I'm not going to make you do a hoop-off or stand in a spinning ring of fire!

**All you do is leave a comment.

**For another entry, blog about this giveaway and link to this post. Come back and tell me about it.

That's it! If you'd like to follow, I'd appreciate it, but it's not required. What's the prize? Of course...

2 charm packs of Hoopla! Picture stolen from Green Fairy Quilts, where I bought them on sale! Sale ends tonight, so if you want to pick up some heavily-discounted fabric, do so now!

I will pick the winner in exactly one week. So enter by Monday, Jan 31 before I draw the winner! Good luck!

and Happy Hooping!
